Well we got no responses or questions about horses or training. This is continuous so if you ever have questions please ask!
So many trainers and riders forget about the basics. It is all about getting the horse to just go forward and forget the basics when they get to the higher levels. The basics are the building blocks to the later more advance riding techniques and if you forget those while executing those techniques, you may run into problems.
I am a firm believer of moving forward and to not get too much in the horse's mouth while riding. I see many riders trying to get their head set are in their mouths without getting them forward or overriding and micromanaging. If your horse pulls or jiggs try to get them to just go without contact. If they continue try riding them in small circles whenever they pull, they hate small circles. Trust me, Lila hates when I make her do circles and becomes a better horsey.
To break up some of the more serious posts about training, competitions, etc I thought today I would make today a lighter day with some comedy with good old fashioned horse pictures.
Note I dont take credit for these photos and they do not nessisarily reflect my views, I just thought they were funny.
While I take training horses seriously, it can also be fun, Here are some fun horse jokes and quotes for your enjoyment. Don't forget to share this on facebook so all your friends can enjoy too.
